Steelhead trout may have an easier time in Arroyo Grande Creek. A group of Environmental Advocates filed a law suit in August against the County of San Luis Obispo. Last month, a U.S. District Court judge ruled that San Luis Obispo County must come up with a water release plan for Lopez dam, to help the fish reach critical spawning habitat. Lopez Lake provides drinking water for roughly 48,000 south county residents. Steelhead trout are a threatened species.
