CHP investigators say a pursuit yesterday afternoon ended near a Santa Maria elementary school. According to the CHP, an officer spotted a silver Honda Element wanted for speeding and unsafe passing just after 4 p.m.. The pursuit began near Betteravia Road, west of Black Road. When the suspect attempted to pass another vehicle on the right, they lost control of their vehicle. The Honda rolled over and landed on the property of Bonita Elementary School. Both occupants of the Honda ended up in the hospital. An investigation is ongoing.
