The man suspected of killing an Atascadero man in October was in court yesterday. Prosecutors believe 21-year-old Tyler Stevens murdered 34-year-old Todd Pinion because of his perceived sexual orientation. It’s also alleged that Stevens killed Pinion’s dog Spock. Stevens pleaded not guilty to charges of animal cruelty and murder and enhancements that included a hate crime and the use of a deadly weapon. He’s due back in court on January 22nd.
