Sleeping Driver Crashes In SLO County

A driver from Modesto is lucky to be alive. According to the CHP, the 23-year-old fell asleep while driving westbound on Highway 46 near Shandon at about 6:30 Friday morning. Their car left the road and ended up 150 feet across a dry river bed on its roof. The driver was able to get back to the highway and flag down help. They were treated at Twin Cities hospital for moderate injuries. Drugs or alcohol were not the cause of the crash.
