Homeless Housing Project To Be Scaled Down

A controversial housing project meant to help homeless people has been scaled down a bit. Last May, the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors approved an 80-unit Welcome Home Village. Now the project at the corner of Bishop Street and Johnson Avenue has been scaled down. According to a staff report, the cabin-style village will have a total of 54 cabins. Officials say financial issues are the reason for the reduced project size.
