The San Luis Obispo County D.A.’s Office has settled a an environmental enforcement action against property owners who allegedly damaged the habitat of a federally protected plant. According to the civil suit, the property owners conducted grading operations without the proper permits, damaging the habitat of the Pismo Clarkia plant. The plant is only found in 24 locations worldwide. All are in San Luis Obispo County. According to yesterday’s press release the property owners will have to pay 165,000 dollars in penalties.
