Non-Profit Helping Kids Who Are Behind In Math

A north county non-profit is helping kids who need help with math. Mathnasium started in Paso Robles back in 2002. Now there’s a local branch in Atascadero. Officials say the tutoring program is designed to help kids from second grade to 9th grade no matter how far behind in math they may be. The nonprofit “Team Paso” is working to connect low-income students who need the service, for free. A recent report showed only 29% of students from third grade to 11th met the academic standard for math. Mathnasium officials say they want to help kids catch up, keep up, get ahead, and stay ahead.
