Arroyo Grande Police say a barricaded man prompted a shelter-in-place order at Arroyo Grande High School Friday afternoon. It started when officers tried to make contact with a known felony suspect. He took off running ending up in a backyard on Orchard Street. The suspect then entered the home’s garage, where he held officers at bay for a short time. The unidentified man from Oceano was taken to an area hospital after complaining of a medical emergency. He was later booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
