California Condor Population Grows

The California Condor population on the Central Coast is growing. Officials with the Ventana Wildlife Society say nine wild chicks made it out of their parents’ nests last year. They added that it was the largest number of chicks to fledge in the program’s history. Along with the release of 12 captive-bred juveniles, the number of Central California condors has grown to 113. The highest total on record.
