Crews are putting the finishing touches on Santa Maria’s newest and largest community center. The Japanese Community Center will highlight the role and impact early Japanese immigrants had on the agricultural history of the Santa Maria Valley. When it’s completed, the Japanese Community Center will be the first community center built in Santa Maria in nearly three decades. The center is expected to be open by this summer.
