A former San Luis Obispo man was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison yesterday. 80-year-old Pablo ReynaEsparza was originally charged with 22 counts of abusing several children under the age of 14. last July ReynaEsparza pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old. The crimes were committed between 2016 and 2018 at his wife’s unlicensed daycare. Officials say he fled to Mexico, but was arrested when he tried to cross back into California in 2023.
