Firefighters are getting a handle on a couple of grass fires that broke out in California Valley yesterday afternoon. The first fire was first reported at around 3:30 just north of Soda Lake. The second happened in an area near Highway 58 and 7 Mile Road. Air and ground attacks kept the flames in check. by 10:30 last night, fire crews had the fires more than 80 percent contained. mop-up operations continue this morning. The causes are under investigation.
