Hundreds of surfers, coaches, trainers, and more have made the trek to Pismo Beach to take part in the world’s largest international para surfing competition. The 2021 International Surfing Association World Para Surfing Championship will be going on until Saturday. The ISA has hosted the championship since 2015, but this is the first time it’s been held outside the San Diego area. Para surfing, or adaptive surfing, allows individuals with physical disabilities to surf. This week’s competition is the largest of its kind in the world.
