Tonight marks the end of an era for the Hi-Way Drive-In in Santa Maria. The Hi-Way Drive-in has been a staple for several Santa Maria residents since 1961. It will soon be replaced by 49 single-family homes. People’s Self-Help Housing purchased the property with plans to build the homes with the help of first-time homeowners.
