Unprecedented is what state water officials are calling the ongoing drought. The lack of water is forcing 26 water agencies throughout Southern California to implement cutbacks. So far, those cutbacks do not include San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara Counties. But some Central Coast cities have introduced restrictions of their own. Arroyo Grande has possibly the strictest water conservation measures. Officials say it’s an effort to keep as much water as possible in Lake Lopez which supplies water for the Five Cities area.
