Nine people and five dogs were able to escape an early morning fire yesterday. Lompoc City Fire officials say the fire broke out in a triplex on North M Street just after 2 o’clock. Crews were able to keep the flames contained to a limited area of the triplex, but the flames spread to a common attic area that required extensive salvage. The Red Cross is helping the residents find other shelter.
