Two Santa Maria men have been arrested for trying to cash a forged check. At around 2:40 Tuesday afternoon, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a bank branch on East Clark Road. When they arrived, one of the suspects fled and was able to elude them for about an hour. Both men were booked into the County Jail. One is being held on 20,000 bail. The other is being held without bail due to several outstanding warrants.
