A diver missing since 2020 may have been found off Santa Cruz Island. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says two recreational divers discovered the remains at Painted Cave Preserve on Santa Cruz Island on November 5th. Sheriff’s divers recovered the body on November 11th. Two years ago 34-year-old Ryder Sturt was lobster diving and failed to resurface. His dive partner called the Coast Guard for help, but he was never found. The Coroner’s office is working to confirm the victim’s identity.
