The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in a fatal weekend stabbing in Shandon. It happened Sunday night in a home on South Second Street at around 9:23. It began when a man called 911 to say he and his wife had been stabbed several times. 31-year-old Justin Buchanan eluded deputies for about five hours before surrendering to authorities. He was later booked on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of his stepmother. His father was last reported to be in stable condition.
