More than two dozen friends and family gathered over the weekend to dedicate a plaque to a SLO couple killed by a speeding vehicle. According to the Tribune, Matthew Chachere and Jennifer Besser were walking their dog along Sacramento Drive near Basil Lane in November last year when they were struck by a speeding car. They were found in thick brush in the creek bed a day after the crash. The driver has been charged with manslaughter and is due in court next week.
