The California Department of Corrections says the inmate suspected of attacking Paul Flores in August is a twice convicted murderer. Flores was hospitalized with a stab wound to his neck on August 23rd. 43-year-old Jason Budrow was found nearby with a “manufactured weapon.” In 2021, Budrow was found guilty of killing another inmate at Mule Creek State Prison, Roger Kibbe, also known as the I-5 Strangler. Paul Flores’ attorney says Flores will fully recover from the attack. He has filed an appeal for his murder conviction in the death of Kristin Smart in 1996.
