The 5Cities Homeless Coalition built it’s first temporary emergency housing facility called Cabins for Change abut a year ago. Since then a waitlist has grown to more than 250 people. Construction has now begun on a new project in Grover Beach to help address the growing need in the community. By January next year, a dirt lot on South 4th Street will have another 30 short-term housing units.
