Monarchs Return To Pismo

Thousands of Monarch butterflies have returned to Pismo Beach. Last week’s California State Parks count of the orange and black butterflies showed more than 8100 had arrived at Butterfly Grove along Highway 1. While the number is up from two weeks ago, officials say the count is down from a year ago. They add that monarch butterflies have been teetering on the brink of extinction for several years.
