The long-awaited Construction of the Enos Ranch Park and Cultural Center in Santa Maria has begun. City officials say the cultural center will span more than 10,000 square feet and include a multi-use area, historical displays, restrooms and a kitchen. It will be designed in the style of a barn as a tribute to the early Japanese agricultural pioneers who settled in Santa Maria and established the agricultural economy. The historic Enos house is also nearby. Officials say it’s restoration depends on funding.
