Morro Bay firefighters responded to a house fire over the weekend. At around 12:20 Saturday morning, fire crews arrived at the scene on Kings Avenue. Police officers were the first to arrive. They couldn’t access the home due to heavy smoke and flames. Firefighters eventually gained control of the fire. One person was fatally injured in the blaze. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
