The Santa Maria Police Department held a DUI Checkpoint over the Labor Day Weekend. Saturday night’s event was held on North Blosser from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say three people were arrested for DUI. The public is reminded that first time DUI charges can carry fines in over 13,000 dollars and a suspended license.
