Some CMC inmates are getting college degrees. Cuesta College’s Rising Scholars program has been serving incarcerated community college students since 2015. The program is funded by the California Promise Grant. Cuesta College officials say the Rising Scholars program has awarded 355 AA degrees since the program began.
