The FBI and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate the explosion at the Santa Maria Courthouse. Authorities say 20-year-old Nathaniel McGuire tossed a backpack into the lobby Wednesday morning. The backpack exploded, injuring at least five people. A search of McGuire’s car turned up a shotgun, a rifle, ammunition, another suspected bomb, 10 Molotov cocktails, and a flare gun. He’ll make his first appearance in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles this afternoon.
