A former Cal Poly football player is developing a device to detect concussions quickly through his startup, ODIN Diagnostics. Connor Heffler’s company originated from a senior project and has since won multiple awards, including $15,000 from Cal Poly’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Heffler and his team aim to address the rising concern of concussions, especially in sports like the NFL, where 219 were reported in the 2023 season. With support from Cal Poly’s accelerator and incubator programs, Heffler is committed to bringing this innovative solution to market to help athletes stay safe.
