A hit and run, and attempted carjacking suspect is behind bars this morning. It started in Paso Robles yesterday morning at around 11. Police were called out to a vehicle collision on Paso Robles Street. Witnesses told police the driver fled after crashing into a parked pickup. He was later found yelling in the middle of Paso Robles Street. 32-year-old, Darren Santagelo became violent toward an officer, punching and kicking him. The officers used his taser and Santagelo was taken into custody. He’s facing several charges including being under the influence of a controlled substance.
