Major Section Of Los Padres Nat’l Forest Closed

Roughly 526 firefighters continue to battle the Willow Fire near Big Sur. At last report, flames had scorched 2,877 acres, and firefighters have about 19 percent containment. Officials have closed a large portion of the Los Padres National Forest in Monterey County. About 100 residences and 25 mixed commercial and residential buildings are threatened. So far, no structures have been damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
