Santa Barbara County has a growing number of homeless people living in their vehicles. County officials were recently awarded eight million dollars to help those people find permanent housing. The number of Santa Barbara County residents living in their grew from 611 in 2023 to 710 in 2024. Over the next two years the county’s goal is to find housing for 300 of those people.
