The murder suspect in a deadly shooting is behind bars this morning. Santa Maria Police say Alfredo Alaniz Jr. is believed to be the person who shot and killed 19-year-old Mario Angel Merino Gonzalez of Guadalupe. Alaniz was taken into custody in Las Vegas earlier this week and charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Santa Maria Police Department.
