Last year health officials in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties saw very few reported cases of the flu. That was thanks to COVID-19 protocols. This year they expect flu numbers to climb. They say now is the time to get your flu shot. It takes about two weeks for the shot to protect your body. According to the CDC, September and October are generally good times to be vaccinated.
