One person was injured and a family pet was lost in a weekend fire in Atascadero. Firefighters received a call about a house fire at around 12:20 Saturday morning. When they arrived at the Yesal Avenue scene, they found the home’s two-car garage in flames and smoke coming from the home. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to knock down the flames. Officials say one of the residents suffered burns to their hands and a deceased cat was found in the garage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
