Lompoc City firefighters responded to a brush fire in the Santa Ynez Riverbed yesterday afternoon. The fire was first reported at around 2:45 off of George Miller Drive near the airport. When they arrived, crews found a small brush fire. Quick work by the firefighters kept the wind-driven flames held to two acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
