The family of a man who was killed during an officer-involved shooting in Guadalupe last August is suing the city and police department. According to KSBY, the family of Juan Olvera Preciado believes the use of deadly force by a Guadalupe police officer was careless, senseless, and unjustified. Police officials say the officer involved in the shooting had opened fire on a wanted felon when a stray bullet struck Olvera Preciado as he sat in his car outside his home. The family attorney says they would like to move forward with a possible mediation with both parties.
