The man suspected of setting the Hollister Ranch fire in March has changed his plea. 30-year-old Edward Macklin had pleaded not guilty to one felony charge and three additional misdemeanors. Last week he pleaded guilty to one count of arson of a structure or forest. The Hollister Ranch fire scorched more than 120 acres southwest of Solvang, forcing the evacuation of at least 30 homes. According to the Santa Maria Times, he’s scheduled to be sentenced next week.
