Emergency Landing In Santa Maria

A single-engine plane traveling up the Central Coast was forced to make an emergency landing over the weekend. The pilot was traveling from Van Nuys to San Luis Obispo when an engine failure forced him to divert to Santa Maria Airport. But he ended up using the 2700 block of east Clark Avenue instead. Authorities say the plane clipped some power lines while landing, but no other damage was reported. An F.A.A. investigation is underway.
