S.B. County Supervisors Vote Themselves A Raise

Earlier this month, Santa Barbara County Supervisors voted 4-1 in favor of a 5 percent pay raise that will increase their earnings from just over $107,000 to more than &120,000 a year. Some residents felt the raise was justified considering inflation. Others felt it was unfair to simply vote to give yourself a raise. The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors also voted to give themselves a 26 percent pay hike. But after June 2025 they will no longer vote on their own salaries.
