SLO County Board Of Supervisors Approve New budget

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has approved a new operating budget for 2023-24. The 966 million dollar budget was approved with a 4-1 vote. According to the Tribune, ongoing funding priorities of meeting legal demands, debt service, and public safety topped the list of budget demands. Homelessness, behavioral health, and housing were also top priorties in the new budget. Secondary priorities include storm recovery, economic development and water resiliency. Officials are bracing for a reduction in State funding due to California’s looming 9 billion deficit in 2024-25.
