A Santa Maria man who plead guilty to embezzling more than half a million dollars was sentenced yesterday. According to KSBY, 67-year-old Manuel Torres was president of the Santa Barbara County Probation Peace Officer Association when he bilked the union for 635,000 dollars. Torres was sentenced to 11 years in prison and ordered to more than a million dollars in restitution and state taxes.
