A group of California and federal legislators is proposing a marine sanctuary off the Central Coast. The group includes Congressmember Salud Carbajal, and Senators Diane Feinstein, and Alex Padilla. The proposed Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary would create a more than 7,600 square-mile federally protected area between Morro Bay and Goleta.
