Congressman Salud Carbajal introduced two bills last week to help airports transition away from toxic firefighting foams that contain polyfluorinated substances, or PFAS. PFAS are considered “forever chemicals” and have been linked tp a number of human health issues. He made the announcement yesterday at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport. The bills would help airports transition to fluorine-free alternatives and cleanup polluted soils and nearby wells.
