Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies stopped an attempt to smuggle fentanyl into the the North Branch Jail this week. A 19-year-old was waiting to be booked on several weapon and gang-related charges Tuesday. Deputies discovered he was in possession of more than 120 fentanyl pills, some of which were secreted in his body. He’s currently being held on 1 million dollars bail.
