A Santa Margarita teen was arrested after trying to steal a bicycle in Atascadero yesterday. Atascadero Police say the 15-year-old attempted to steal the bike by brandishing a handgun on El Camino Real. He fled on foot toward Atascadero High School, prompting a lockdown of that school and North County Christian School. He was taken into custody when he hopped a fence, landing in front of a police officer.
