Santa Barbara County and Santa Maria law enforcement officials remind everyone to beware of your surroundings when using an ATM. They’ve seen an increase in ATM skimmers. Just last Sunday, someone notified Santa Maria Police of a skimmer on an ATM on Broadway. On Monday, Officers responded to call about two men acting suspiciously near an ATM where a skimmer was discovered. Two men were arrested. A search of their vehicle turned up several thousand dollars in cash, over 100 reloadable credit cards, and suspected ATM burglary tools.
