The Santa Maria Fire Department has released its 2023 call for service numbers. According to KEYT, the department answered 12,373 calls-for-service, but they weren’t all fire-related calls. 427 calls were fire specific. Crews also answered 476 false alarms and 4,433 miscellaneous calls. Emergency Medical Services answered 6,060 calls and 662 calls for traffic collisions. Firefighters also responded to 315 calls for hazardous conditions.
