Firefighters in Santa Maria had their hands full with a storage facility fire over the weekend. At around 8:25 Sunday night, fire crews responded to the Canyon Storage Facility on North Noble Way. When they arrived, they were greeted by large amounts of smoke coming from several units. Officials say an ‘aggressive fire attack’ was needed to keep the fire contained to one section of the facility. A total of eight engine companies were on the scene to keep the fire contained. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
