Storm Runoff Continues To Fill Reservoirs

Runoff from recent storms has local lakes and reservoirs at or near full capacity. For only the second time in 25 years, water flowed into Lopez Lake’s spillway. The last time was March of last year. Meanwhile, Lake Cachuma reached its full capacity over the weekend. Last week, water began flowing through the Bradbury Dam gates to make room for the predicted runoff from the storm activity. Santa Margarita Lake is currently 90 percent full and Whale Rock Reservoir is at 100 percent capacity.
